Grang News: Goat project & children clothes
Three years later:
how the goats and people are Grang
In 2022, thanks to a very generous spread of the Lions Club Hochwald-Hermeskeil, we were able to give goats to the village Grang -a sustainable help that should give families a better future in the long term. Now we reach a lot of pictures and videos from the village that show: the goats thrive, many are pregnant again or a lot of offspring runs around in the village.
Of course, two years are a short time to expect big changes. Prosperity does not arise overnight - but the goats already help families make small but important progress. The sale of milk or offspring helps to secure medical care and pay school fees for the children. This is exactly what the additional income is primarily used for: for health and education - the best investments in the future.
In addition, many families save their additional income to sustainably improve their living conditions. Some plan to replace your simple house, which often consists of corrugated blax with more stable building materials so that it better protects against cold and rain. Others want to buy larger water tanks in order to be able to save enough water during the dry season and to have to take the long, tedious path to the next source less often. Some families also hope to be able to buy tools or animals cows over time in order to further expand their sources of income.
We were also able to implement another concern during our last visit. On our first visit to Grang , we didn't have enough children's clothing with us to give everyone something. launched the "Children clothes for Grang , so we traveled back to Nepal with three large bags full of clothes last autumn; These have now been brought to Grang . There were also booklets & pens for the students. The children's joy was huge - and the new clothing is a great relief for families, especially in the cold months.
Thanks to everyone who made this project possible! Your support works - even if the biggest changes take time.
